Why “natural”?
What do we mean by natural? We mean that SD Bath & Body contains only whole, nourishing ingredients, without any contaminants. That means NO synthetic fragrances, NO parabens, and NO aluminum compounds.
Why is this important?
Humans have a built-in system for draining unwanted fluids, waste, and toxins that accumulate in our body. This structure is called the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system has multiple functions, including transporting white blood cells throughout the body, but one of its most important jobs is to remove Interstitial Fluid (ISF) or “tissue fluid” from the muscles. ISF is stored in our tissue, and the lymphatic system consistently cycles through this fluid, helping you to stay healthy and free of toxins.
Near the underarm, slightly above and to the side of where we apply deodorant, are something called axillary nodes. These lymph nodes are vitally important, and filter/conduct through the upper limbs, pectoral region (chest), and upper back.
This means every time we apply deodorant, we are applying a substance directly near one of our body's most important forms of filtration, and having a direct effect on our lymphatic system. This means your body has to work twice as hard at removing potential toxins, including aluminum.
Aluminum-based deodorants are technically antiperspirants. The aluminum is designed to stop you from sweating by clogging the pores, but there can be adverse side affects. Recent studies have demonstrated there may be a link between aluminum-based deodorizing products, and breast cancer (remember, everyone can get breast cancer, including men).
Because of this, we only offer aluminum-free deodorant, to ensure you always feel comfortable using it, and never have any doubts about your deodorant potentially damaging your health.
All of SD Bath & Body’s deodorants are coconut oil based, making them incredibly moisturizing, and perfect for those with even the most sensitive skin!
Most importantly, SD Bath & Body's infusion of Coconut Oil, Arrowroot Powder, Cocoa Seed Butter, Candelilla Wax, and Baking Soda are completely effective--which is especially important when it comes to deodorant. We carry seven different scents (all using essential oils), and one unscented, for those sensitive to fragrance.
